An Ending and a Beginning
Some events truly shape us as we move through this world. They mark the changing of the seasons of our lives as both endings and new beginnings loom ahead on the path. Every moment on this path we journey down is a moment waiting for us to experience, learn from, and take heart in. The ups and downs are but subtle shifts on our way towards the crossroads and forks up ahead. The future is waiting for us down those paths, dappled in sunlight and littered with roots that make each step a conscious one.
Today we crossed a river along that path marking the end of our classes with the tradition. It is an exciting time that heralds a new path we must take. A path that leads off the well worn and traveled track that has become so comfortable and easy to traverse. The path ahead is one that must be forged by each of us. Thick with brambles as it twists and turns deeper into the heart of the forest, we know it is time to move down this path on our own. There will be helping friends and sign posts along the way, advice asked for and received by those that have traveled their own crooked path before us. Ayda and I will be for the most part, on parallel paths, providing a guiding light to each other as we stumble through the branches and roots that stray into our path. The way now is a solitary journey in its complexity, requiring a deep search within and a deeper dive into furthering our practice.
As we set out down a wooded path into a beautiful town park for our final class, we realized that this new step is a chance for us to grow as Tradition members, people, and witches. It was an exciting day with the bittersweet feeling that you get from closing one door and opening another. To quote a favorite story of mine: "Home is behind, the world ahead, and there are many paths to tread."
We hope you will follow along with us as we go in search of deeper meaning, further learning, and a newer understanding of our craft. We will be sure to chronicle our journey here so that we can share in this new adventure with you.
